- WE USE ONLY COSMETIC-GRADE, US FDA compliant Face and Body Paint that can easily be removed with warm soapy water. The paints we use have preservatives that inhibit bacterial growth.
Be advised -- acrylic paints and tempera paints are non-toxic and safe for children to use as craft paints, but ARE NOT FOR USE ON THE SKIN.
Craft, acrylic, and other “non-toxic” paints may contain nickel, as well as other ingredients, which can cause severe allergic reactions in some individuals. Also, these paints are hard to remove from the skin, often causing irritation in just the removal of them. It is NEVER O.K. to apply a sharpie Marker or any other type of marker to the skin. "non-toxic" DOES NOT mean approved for use on skin!
- WE USE ONLY COSMETIC-GRADE Glitter. Craft glitters should NEVER be used on the face or body because they contain metal flakes which can injure the surface of the eye.
Hygiene
Hygiene should be of utmost important for any professional. No matter who you choose for your face painting these are some inportant guidlines that should be followed:
- WE USE ONLY CLEAN WATER, and CLEAN BRUSHES. Our water is always fresh and clean. Our spray bottles are disinfected and contain fresh, clean water. We wash our brushes and sponges after every use with mild baby shampoo and HOT water so that if any soap residue remains in them it will not harm anyones eyes. We use a clean spoge on each client and thoroughly clean and sanitize them between between jobs.
- QTips and eyeshadow applicators are fresh per use and discarded after use.
- WE WILL NOT PAINT EVERYONE . . . In order to reduce the risk of disease spread, persons who are sick, have head lice, or have skin infections WILL NOT be painted. Please do not allow your child(ren) to be painted if they are ill.
